Whether you haul piggybacks, sea containers or both, applying Truckpro's next generation technology to your daily routines can significantly decrease day-to-day costs and streamline your entire business operations.
Varipro's solution for the intermodal industry starts with our dispatch system. The dispatch system allows each dispatcher to define screens that are useful to them. Once a screen is defined, it can be called from dispatch with two key strokes or mouse clicks. The dispatch screen lets the dispatcher define: what data he wants to see on the screen (100 different data elements), how that data is sorted (18 different sorts), how the data is filtered (over 50 different filters) and colors can be set for different fields and values. A few examples of pre-defined screens are: a screen of inbound containers from a certain port, a screen of all dropped containers sorted by last free day, a screen of re-loadable containers, and/or a screen of notified trailers at a ramp. Screens can be built to show container inventories at various shippers, show pre-noted containers not notified yet, and show containers on detention.
A time threshold can be set up in the dispatch system so when a container is within the time threshold it will turn red in the dispatch screen. For example, if the last free date is tomorrow the container would turn red today. There is also a 120 line memo to record accessorial charges and conversations regarding detention with customers. This memo is displayed at the billing time and can be retrieved from history after the load is billed. The dispatch will also display reloadable containers until they are reloaded. Failsafe features ensure that one container cannot be dispatched on more than one order at a time.
Truckpro also uses haul types to track and sort data. Haul types are defined for outbound containers, inbound containers, outbound pigs and inbound pigs, etc. In each haul type you can define information such as: booking number, final destination, seal number, vessel, voyage, etc. These haul types can be used as filters in dispatch, so dispatchers can separate inbound and outbound containers. Different haul types can be defined using different colors in the dispatch system.
With only one entry, Truckpro captures all significant information on each movement. The information from dispatch is integrated with the billing, driver pay and stores every bit of information for easy on-line recall. The Truckpro system has the ability to pay and bill independently and still pull the information together for one movement. Since the system knows where each driver went, the pay is automatically generated by using tariffs. One keystroke allows you to perform a system wide search for a container, customer reference number or load number. Review the complete history of any trailer or container at any time.
Eliminate the possibility of unbilled movements or double pay and get ample warning on potential detention and demurrage charges.
